About Weatherford Art Association

The Weatherford Art Association was formed in 1966 and is a non-profit 501(c) organization.  Its location in the Historically Designated Old Firehouse Building is of particular interest to many who visit Weatherford.  A brief history of the building and several old newspaper articles and photos are on display in the gallery.

The purpose of WAA is to promote growth of art and appreciation among our members and the general public through educational activities, instructional programs, lectures, class instruction and just plain enjoyment of art!

We are very much involved with the annual Peach Festival held in Parker County that draws many visitors from all over North Central Texas.  We also put on a several shows throughout the year.
WAA members have the opportunity to display and sell work at the Firehouse Art Center & Gallery; enter the Artist of the Month contest, and become eligible for the Artist of the Year.

Monthly meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month, at 7 P.M. At these meetings, we have demonstrations given by local and non-local artists. They range from painting, drawing and sketching, pottery, glass painting, oils and more.

WAA also conducts workshops and classes during the weekdays, week nights, and Saturday.  See the class schedule post.
